CHHS Executive Director David Stroud Meets with Rep. Jason Saine
(December 18, 2014) – Cashiers-Highlands Humane Society Executive Director David Stroud was in the state capitol on December 17th to meet with and express thanks to North Carolina State Representative Jason Saine.
In his role as Vice Chairman of the North Carolina Animal Federation, Stroud has been actively involved in the push for legislation to rid the state of inhumane puppy mills. Rep. Saine was the main sponsor of last session’s HB930, known as the “puppy mill bill”, which passed overwhelmingly in the State House of Representatives and has the support and endorsement of the Governor. It was blocked from coming to a vote on the floor of the Senate in the last session, but Stroud, Saine and many other animal advocates across the state have vowed to keep fighting until meaningful legislation is passed to shut down puppy mills in North Carolina.
